Submitting Our 1023-EZ: A Leap Toward Official Nonprofit Status

June marked a major milestone: we officially submitted our IRS Form 1023-EZ to obtain 501(c)(3) status.

This moment—though it may seem like just paperwork—represents something far more meaningful. It’s a declaration that The Kringle Cause is here for the long haul. That our mission to spread joy, empower adults with disabilities, and support children in need is serious, sustainable, and legally recognized (pending approval, of course!).

We worked with Chisholm Law Firm, who helped guide us through the process and provided the peace of mind that every detail was covered. You can read more about why we chose them in the article, "Why I Chose Chisholm Law Firm — and Why I’d Choose Them Again"

So what does this mean for you and for our mission?

If approved, all donations made since our incorporation on March 13, 2025 will become retroactively tax-deductible. More importantly, it allows us to apply for grants, build partnerships, and demonstrate transparency to donors and the public.

Submitting this form felt like signing our mission into existence. The paperwork is in. The prayers are up. Now we wait—and keep building.
