Meet the E.L.F.s: The Heart of The Kringle Cause

When most people think of Santa’s elves, they picture cheerful, pointy-eared helpers tinkering away at toys in a snowy workshop. At The Kringle Cause, our E.L.F.s may not wear curled shoes or live at the North Pole—but they carry just as much magic.

Our E.L.F.s are young adults with cognitive and physical disabilities—amazing individuals who often face barriers to employment, inclusion, and community involvement. To us, they’re not just participants in our programs; they are the core of our mission.

The name stands for Envoys of Love & Friendship, and that’s exactly what they are. Every toy they help craft, every gift they prepare, every tag they tie brings with it a message: You matter. You are seen. You are loved.

We’re building The Kringle Cause to give these individuals:

  • Meaningful work in a real-world, workshop environment.
  • Skill-building opportunities through Workshop 48, tailored to their strengths and interests.
  • A community where their contributions are celebrated, not sidelined.

We envision a workshop buzzing with joy—woodshop stations, sewing tables, sensory-friendly zones, and creative nooks. The E.L.F.s won’t just make toys for children in hospitals or shelters—they’ll also help brainstorm ideas, test prototypes, and participate in the delivery process through our Kringle Corp.

And this is just the beginning. As our nonprofit grows, so will the roles and responsibilities available to our E.L.F.s. From mentoring others to managing workshop tasks, we are committed to growing with them—not just using their labor, but nurturing their leadership and confidence.

Because let’s be honest: the world has underestimated these individuals for far too long. We won’t.

At The Kringle Cause, E.L.F.s are not a program. They are the point.
