The Plan Before the People: How One Santa Started with a Vision

This month, I did something terrifying—and kind of thrilling. I wrote down my entire vision for something that doesn’t exist yet. No staff. No workshop. No money. No toys. Just an idea that’s been whispering to me for years, and the hope that maybe—just maybe—it’s the kind of idea others will believe in too.

The document I’m talking about is a strategic plan I titled simply: “Organizational Overview and Strategic Plan” for The Kringle Cause. It’s not some cookie-cutter template or MBA thesis. It’s a roadmap scribbled out by a guy who loves Christmas, loves kids, and believes deeply in the power of purpose.

At this stage, there is no “we.” It’s just me. I haven’t shared this with anyone yet—not officially. I wrote it to test myself. To ask the question: if this cause is as magical as I think it is, can I put it on paper in a way that makes others feel it too?

It’s packed with dreams—big ones. A permanent Santa’s Village. Dozens of empowered young adults we’ll call E.L.F.s (Envoys of Love & Fellowship). Joy delivered year-round to children who are too often overlooked. Emotional support for parents who are overwhelmed and exhausted. A coalition of Santas, Mrs. Clauses, volunteers, donors, and believers, all working together to spread love and inclusion.

It outlines the next five years—but if I’m honest, we haven’t even taken the first real step yet. The toys and gifts we plan to give? Haven’t been made. The workshop space? Still a dream. The money? Nonexistent. What I do have is the belief that if I can show people this plan—this map to something beautiful—they might come with me.

If you're reading this, chances are you’re one of the very first. Welcome. I hope you’ll read the document listed below, the Organizational Overview and Strategic Plan, with an open heart, and see the glimmer of what I see: something worth building.

Because every great cause starts with one person willing to take a step—however wobbly—and say, “I believe this can work.”
